Nice lightweight budget bench
Are you looking for a lightweight, compact, budget bench for lifting? If so, you might want to take a look at the Marcy SB-315 Utility Flat Bench. Coming in at well under $100, this bench is steady, good quality and claims a max user weight of 600 pounds. It says it’s 14 gauge steel, yet weighs in at only 18 pounds. For those who don’t want a bench that takes up a lot of space, at 41 inches long, this may fit the bill. It’s also very lightweight, coming in at only 18 pounds. If you want a bench that’s easy to move, this Marcy Flat Bench is worth a look

It’s a basic bench that delivers more than a lot of benches in or below its price point. I’ve owned a number of budget benches, but many are wobbly, harder to assemble, have thin, hard pads or have other issues. Marcy has been making their products for years, and they don’t seem to run into these problems all that much.
Let’s talk about downsides and what’s missing. First, you may notice that this bench has no wheels or handle. At 18 pounds, most of us won’t need them, but if you want them, you might want to look at another bench. While my bench is stable, some reviewers report some wobble. At this price, that makes sense, but even at much higher prices, you can never be 100% sure there’s no wobble. And while the bench is long enough for most of us, very tall people or those with long torsos may not find 41 inches long enough for them.
