Steelbody Deluxe Utility Weight Bench

So good I bought it twice!

Okay, let’s get this out front – Steelbody is a brand from Marcy, who has made many pieces of budget fitness gear over decades. But the Steelbody Deluxe Utility Weight Bench is a step or two above your average budget bench. It has nice padding, nice upholstery, sticks to the floor well, and when I sold my first one to get an adjustable bench, I missed it so much I bought a replacement that lived up to my first one.

So what did I like about it so much? It’s very steady, and sticks to the floor better than other similar weight benches. The pad is much more comfortable than other benches I’ve owned in the same price ranges, it’s supportive yet not hard, and the vinyl isn’t too slick. It’s steady – no shake or wiggle – and it’s got wheels to move it around. It feels much beefier than other similarly priced benches. It has transportation wheels and a handle to make it easy to move. And as a plus, for those who are tight for space, this bench can be stored vertically.

And what sold me the first time is one side is wider than the other, which I find very appealing. It’s also pretty compact at only 43.5 inches long, and it’s 16″ from the floor to the top of the bench, which is ideal for height-challenged people like me.

What I like about it so much may be a downside for other people. Some prefer a narrower bench when they bench press. The narrower side of the pad is about 11 inches across, the wider is 14.5 inches. Very tall lifters may find 16 inches to the floor too low for their preferences, and may also find the 43.5 inches too short.

I ordered my second Steelbody bench on January 1, 2026 while it was on sale. Prime Days, Black Friday and other sale days (like New Years Day) see very nice price drops. So do other days – today, it’s listed for $141.97, but scroll down the page, and you’ll see a coupon price of $99.37 – now, that’s a deal!
